Information and Support
The Information Service is a free service available to those affected by schizophrenia and other severe mental illness. This includes people with direct experience themselves, their family members, carers, friends and neighbours. Information is also provided to other service providers in both the voluntary and statutory sectors.
Information is offered on many aspects of mental illness and the effect it has on all concerned.
Questions and requests we frequently respond to include:
- What forms of treatment are available?
- Details of specific medications
- Details about the workings of the Mental Health (Care & Treatment)(Scotland) Act 2003
- Where can I get help?
- How to get help in a crisis or to prevent a crisis arising?
- Who can help with benefit claims?
- How do I complain about services?
