The Glengarry Centre is a resource/drop-in social centre for people affected by mental health issues who are living in the Lochaber area.
The centre provides somewhere for people to come and relax, socialize and take part, if they wish, in a variety of activities. There is a sitting-room, recreational area with pool table, Wii console and musical instruments, and a café providing good, healthy food at a very reasonable cost. The café also provides volunteering opportunities for those interested in helping to prepare and serve the food.
Current activities on offer include relaxation, writing group, reading group, cake making and baking, card making, music group and very shortly we will be resuming our art group. One-off activities include a DVD evening, Burns night, music nights, plus occasional day trips round Fort William for coffee and the shops and day trips further afield, for example Oban and Iona. One activity to look out for in spring is an overnight bothying trip.
The centre is welcomes people referred by health professionals and those who wish to refer themselves.
