The Wax/Owen Mental Health Forums with SANE

SANE is delighted to invite anyone affected by or who would like to know more about mental health to free forums at the Dovecot Studios, Edinburgh, on Tuesday 16th August and Friday 19th August, 11am – 1pm

Ruby Wax and Judith Owen share their experiences of mental illness along with an expert speaker at each Forum and Marjorie Wallace, Chief Executive of SANE. A Question and Answer session will follow. This is a unique occasion and will be relaxed, fun and informative.

• Tuesday 16th August - Magnus Linklater, Scottish editor, The Times: ‘Whose Rights? A father’s story’

• Friday 19th August - Professor David Owens, Chief Psychiatrist, Royal Infirmary: ‘The so-called medical model – alive and thriving?’

Please note: SANE will be filming the panel and speaker on stage, but audiences’ faces will not be featured. We may also film the communal session and there will be a photographer, but permission will be asked before any footage or photographs are taken. Footage and photographs will be used on SANE’s website and for campaigning purposes only.
TV filming may also take place but this will be announced in advance.
