SUPPORT in Mind Scotland's 1 in 100 Fundraising and Awareness Campaign ended in style this month with a Ceilidh, and we have put together a short video to celebrate and thank you for your efforts in recent months.

We also have big plans for 1 in 100 in future, and propose to move the annual 100-day fundraising push to the summer months, beginning in July 2016 and concluding on World Mental Health Day on 10 October.

Fundraising and Communications Manager Colin Leslie said: "We appreciate every penny that is raised for Support in Mind Scotland, which helps us deliver services and support to people affected by mental ill health across 21 projects in Scotland.

"The 1 in 100 campaign has proved to be an excellent way of engaging with our members, volunteers, carers, staff, sponsorts, supporters and the people who use our services.

"Not only has the campaign raised nearly £10,000 for our organisation, many of the events have helped us raise awareness of mental health and the challenges we face to continue delivering crucial services of great importance to people across the country.

"We challenged people to use their imagination when choosing an activity for 1 in 100 and they have responded brilliantly. We have seen marathons, mountain climbs, sky dives, walks, bakes, beard shaves, head shaves, dooks and swims, arts and craft activities, piano recitals and of course the fantastic Christmas charity single by the Dan Collins Band.

"On behalf of the Fundraising team, I would like to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone who has supported us so generously."

Iain Mitchell, our Fundraising and Campaigns Officer, helped bring the curtain down on 1 in 100 by organising our Ceilidh in Lauriston Hall, Edinburgh, and he said: "The hall was packed, everyone enjoyed themselves and we raised a lot of money!  Thank you to everyone who helped make our 1 in 100 Ceilidh such a success.”

While this 1 in 100 Campaign has ended for now, we continue to welcome any fundraising efforts on our behalf. Please contact Colin or Iain and they will do all they can to assist you.
