Band backs Support in Mind Scotland with Christmas single TALENTED acoustic group The Dan Collins Band have kindly chosen Support in Mind Scotland to benefit from a Christmas charity single and fundraiser. The Edinburgh-based band will launch the single "Christmas Eve (In A Nuclear Winter)" during a fundraising night at Studio 24 in the capital's Calton Road on Saturday, 12 December at 7pm. Proceeds will be generously donated by The Dan Collins Band to Support in Mind Scotland. Support in Mind Scotland is enormously grateful that The Dan Collins Band has chosen to support our work and our 1 IN 100 fundraising and awareness campaign in this way. Ahead of the launch, the Band's Facebook page explains: "It's that giving time of year again, and we have chosen to send some good will and hard cash to Support in Mind Scotland a great local charity who provide support to people with mental illness."We will also be collecting food, clothing, and other goods to send to help refugees in Greece. They need a merry Christmas too." The official launch night of "Christmas Eve (in a nuclear winter)", will include performances from Lach, indie rocker Katya Mansell, Chris Biatch, Van Tastik, and of course The Dan Collins Band. The Dan Collins Band's genre is "vaguely folkish aterna rock" and the four-piece is made up of Dan Collins, Asim Rasool, Sam Siggs and Craig Stoddart. Previous releases by The Dan Collins Band have included 'Foreword' in April 2015, and 'Live @ The Loft' and 'The Kitchen Sessions' in 2014. Admission to the single launch and fundraiser is only £5 and as well as a night of fantastic live music, there will also be raffles, Santa, Christmas crackers, clothing donations and a food drive.
