News and opinion Our News Golspie garden project to sprout from Co-op Local Community Fund A new gardening and horticultural project for Support in Mind Scotland's Golspie project has been selected to benefit from the Co-op Local Community Fund. We plan to use the funding to create two raised beds in the garden at The Gatehouse - one for flowers and one for vegetables. Produce will be used for soup-lunches for service users. At a time when funds for community groups and charitable organisations are becoming more difficult to access, we’re incredibly grateful for this opportunity to make a real difference in Golspie. We applied to the Co-op Local Community Fund in July and have been selected to benefit from the generosity of their members. When a Co-op member buys selected products or services from the Co-op they earn a 5 per cent reward for themselves, with a further 1 per cent for local causes like ours. You can track the progress of our project page HERE The Co-op is looking to support organisations that make a difference in their local communities by protecting & improving community spaces, helping people reach their full potential by developing their skills, or promoting health and wellbeing. Co-op members can choose a cause by going online www.coop.co.uk/membership. We really hope that people will visit the website and choose to support us. If you’re not a member and would like to support us, you can join at your local store or online at www.coop.co.uk. When a community comes together we’re able to achieve great things, so we hope you can help promote our project.
