Alison Guest, a long-serving supporter and director of Support in Mind Scotland, has now raised more than £1,000 for the charity by holding annual piano recitals on the Inner Hebrides island of Colonsay.

Alison has now staged piano recitals at her home on the island for the past three years, and the 2018 gathering - held on 4 January - raised £345. "This brings the total over three years to over £1000," said Alison. "I had said it could be the last, as it involves a lot of practice throughout the year, but the islanders really want me to continue!"

Support in Mind Scotland's Fundraising and Communications Manager Colin Leslie: "We are extremely grateful to Alison for her efforts and commitment over these past three years. To surpass the £1,000-mark is quite an achievement, and it is clear that the islanders on Colonsay very much enjoy listening to her play the piano.

"I know how grateful Alison is for the support she has received from the community, and we would like to extend our own thanks to her friends and neighbours in Colonsay for the generous backing they have shown for mental health awareness and Support in Mind Scotland."
