CEO

Nick Ward

Nick joined the organisation at the end of 2021. He is originally from Dundee and went to Edinburgh University.

His professional background is in education where he was a secondary school teacher in south and east London and then a senior leader before moving into the third sector as Regional Director for the charity Teach First. After returning to Scotland in 2018 he became the director of National Autistic Society Scotland before taking up his role at Support in Mind Scotland. He has a Master Degree in leadership from University College London (UCL) and was a local authority councillor in Islington, London where he lived for 10 years. 

Nick is passionate about addressing disadvantage and ensuring that everyone in Scotland gets the support that they need. Outside of work he lives in Edinburgh with his partner, is a keen runner, loves reading and exploring history and is a sci fi addict.
