Part Time Carer Support Worker

17.5 hours per week (Flexible with some out of hours and weekend work required)

Salary will start at: £10,260 per annum

Based in Dumfries and Galloway

Support in Mind Scotland provides support for people whose lives are seriously affected by mental health problems or illness. This can include people directly affected by mental illness, family members, friends and supporters.

Support in Mind Scotland is also looking for a reliable, enthusiastic person who would feel confident in supporting carers of people who have experience of mental health issues. This position is based in the east of the Dumfries and Galloway region supporting carers in Stewartry, Nithsdale and Annandale and Eskdale. The ideal candidate should possess at least 1 years’ experience working with people affected by mental health issues. They will have knowledge of what support carers need to improve the quality of their lives as well as the lives of those they care for. They will be confident carrying a caseload and lone working. Multi-disciplinary working, partnership work and knowledge of community resources for carers are essential.

The successful candidates should have experience of providing support to people whose Mental Health issues seriously affect their lives.  An SVQ3 qualification in Social Services and Health Care (or an equivalent qualification) is desirable.
