As Covid closed in and Lockdown arrived I went for a short walk to the post box. As I turned back into my street I saw a vision - people doing keep fit out on their driveways... led by Scotland rugby legend Scott Hastings, his wife Jenny and daughter Kerry-Anne! So, as you do in the middle of the road,.. I wiggled my hips, swung my legs, waived my arms and sang along to the music. Fun fun fun! Warriston keep fit continues and even made the local paper/web last week :) Jenny and Scott, it turns out, are ambassadors for Support in Mind, a mental health charity which also offers the '100 Streets Challenge' https://www.supportinmindscotland.org.uk/100streetschallenge
In the run up (or walk up..) to my birthday on May 7th I have decided to attempt a total of 100 streets over the next few weeks in the hope of raising £100 for Support in Mind, instead of birthday shopping. I also hope it might help my legs strengthen a bit, and say thanks to Jenny and Scott for keeping the neighbourly spirit going here in Warriston. 1, 2, 3 streets or days at a time... whatever you are doing (or indeed *not* doing) in the current crisis, keep safe and keep in touch.
