It is with great sadness that Support in Mind Scotland acknowledge the passing of one of our long-standing members, Colin Murchie, who served on our Board for nearly 10 years from 2010 to 2019.

Colin always introduced himself at Board meetings as hailing from "the Great City of Inverness", and he was always keen to ensure that our Organisation did not forget about the needs of people living in remote and rural parts of the country.

Frances Simpson, Support in Mind Scotland CEO, said: "Colin was a dedicated supporter of our organisation, giving time and expertise, supporting fellow Board members and representing people with lived experience, not just in his work with SiMS but his work more widely across the Mental Health sector with other organisations including Bipolar Scotland and Vox.

"Colin was also part of our Highland Service for many years, and he will be missed by everyone in SiMS who knew him.

"Our thoughts go out to his closest friends and family, who will be struggling to cope with his loss particularly at this time of restriction."
