On Wednesday 10th October colleagues from the evaluation team that are working alongside the Scottish Government’s Distress Brief Intervention pilot programme (DBI) visited Inverness to meet the Support in Mind Scotland colleagues who are involved in the planning and delivery of DBI.

We are the lead agency in the Highland for this major Scottish Government initiative, which aims to improve support for people who present in distress to front-line services. DBI has been in operation for a year and has already supported over 1400 people in distress across Scotland.

The pilot will be continuously evaluated by a team drawn from a number of independent organisations. The meeting in Inverness gave our colleagues a chance to meet the evaluation team and learn about how they will contribute to the evaluation.

This marks an important landmark for the DBI programme as we move towards assessing the impact of this ground-breaking work.
