The third Monday in January is often labelled 'Blue Monday' and is billed as the most depressing day of the year by the media!

This year help us break this trend by making it a #brightmonday. Together with our Mental Health UK sister charities in England (Rethink Mental Illness), Northern Ireland (Mindwise) and Wales (Hafal), we are asking our supporters to do one of three very simple things!

1. Wear bright clothing on Bright Monday - anything from a colourful shirt or tie to brightly coloured socks.

2. If you have a workspace, dress it up – print off our colourful bunting or decorate your area with some new plants, print out a quote, a joke, or a photo that makes you smile, or set up a small bowl of fresh fruit on your desk.

3. Brighten up someone’s day – offer to make a hot drink or do a favour for someone, get some biscuits in or pay someone a compliment.
