A GROUP from our Kaleidoscope centre in Dumfries have raised more than £1,000 for Support in Mind Scotland after tackling one of the longest Zip Wires in Europe at Laggan Outdoor Activity Centre.

The zip wire funds totalled an impressive £1023.66, which has been donated to our services at Annan and Kaleidoscope - £511.83 each.

The challenge formed part of ‘Zip, Nip, Hip and Rip’ – a weekend of events in Dumfries to raise money for Support in Mind Scotland, and two other local charities - the Alexandra Unit in DGRI and the Royal British Legion/Rider’s Branch.

Seventeen people completed the giant Zip Wire, including ‘Superman’ Laurie (above), but three more from the group were foiled by high winds. However, Annan’s ‘Fred The Ted’ bear did manage to complete the challenge and got his backside stamped with the Laggan logo!
