Are you a creative mental health worker interested in working for an award-winning Scottish charity whose aim is to improve the lives of people living with mental ill health?

Support in Mind Scotland has an exciting opportunity to be part of a ground-breaking and innovative approach to supporting people in Edinburgh called Thrive.

In this varied and dynamic role, you will be part of a multi-disciplinary team which offers brief and targeted support to a wide range of people.  The Senior Support Workers connect people into appropriate community and self-management resources which help them to manage their mental health and wellbeing.

We are seeking someone who is passionate about making a real difference and who can work closely with statutory and voluntary partners, using a person-centred approach. The successful candidate will be adept at helping people to identify their personal outcomes, and will be able to quickly build collaborative short-term working relationships.

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking someone who has direct experience of supporting people with their mental health, including people living with complex issues, and who can demonstrate an ability to enable people to develop their own recovery plans, whilst assessing and managing risk appropriately.

You should be able to evidence partnership working and bring a sound knowledge of the Edinburgh health and social care landscape. You should also be willing to embrace a culture of shared learning and reflection to bring creative solutions to the team.

You should ideally have a SVQ Level 4 or equivalent qualification or be prepared to work towards achieving this standard.

This post is subject to membership of the PVG Scheme and appropriate checks.

Why join us?

This is a great opportunity to join a thriving charity and help shape its future, and be part of a new exciting programme. In return for your work, passion and dedication, we offer scope for development, a benefit package including 37 days’ holiday and 2 wellbeing days, enhanced sick pay, season ticket loan, regular support and supervision and access to our Employee Assistance Programme.
