Post: Sessional Workers

Location: Multiple Locations across Scotland (Dumfries, Fife, Fort William, Alness, Golspie)

Hours: Variable and Flexible Hours to be agreed

Salary: £9.24 per hour

Purpose of Post

We are looking for friendly, positive and enthusiastic people to join our team as Sessional Workers, to help us deliver various services across Scotland.

The overall aim of the Sessional Support Workers post is to encourage and enable service users to become involved in a range of activities that enhance their quality of life and personal potential.

We are recruiting sessional workers for regular work and bank staff, for relief work in Dumfries & Fife & the Highlands (Fort William, Alness, Golspie). For more information about the services delivered by Support in Mind Scotland in these locations, please visit our webpage.

What I Do

  • Help facilitate activities and project resources.
  • Develop a supportive and honest relationship with individuals who use Support in Mind Scotland services.
  • Liaise with and promote access to all relevant community resources and agencies.
  • Ensure that the Health and Safety aspects of activity involvement including risk assessment of external activities are undertaken.
  • To maintain attendance and other monitoring records for the project
  • Maintain activity resources.
  • Report any issues pertaining to concerns about an individual’s health and wellbeing, Health and Safety issues or equal opportunities to the line manager.

General

  • To comply with all necessary Health and Safety requirements.
  • You are able to handle confidential and sensitive issues.
  • Willing to work flexibly and to work out of hours as required providing a flexible service.
  • To attend regular supervision with the line manager.
  • To effectively support the active equal opportunities policy.
  • To undertake any other duties and training that may reasonably be requested by the line manager, and which are commensurate with the role.
  • The successful candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or update their membership.

Who I am

We are looking for individuals with a wide range of skills and interests. You may have some experience of providing support to people with mental illness
