£20,520 PRO RATA

Support in Mind Scotland is a national organisation aiming to improve the lives of anyone affected by serious mental health problems and mental illness and we are seeking a Carers Support Worker for our service in Angus who will work within our Tayside and Fife team.

The aim of this role is to provide one to one and group information and support to relatives/friends of people living with a serious mental health problem or mental illness.  We already work with a number of carers across the Angus County, but we are keen to work with partners, particularly in health and social care services, to identify hidden carers who may be feeling stigmatised, isolated and struggling to cope.

Support in Mind Scotland knows that carers of people with a mental health problem face very specific and challenging problems that arise from caring for someone being treated under the Mental Health Act; therefore we need someone who not only has empathy and understanding but also who is able to take a rights-based approach to the work.

The Carers Support Worker will also be involved in helping to develop and run carer-led training and education events, producing newsletters and regular updates, and ensuring that that national developments and news is disseminated to carers in Angus.

The post holder will be required to join the PVG Scheme.  The closing time and date is 9am on Monday 17th July 2017.

CVs will not be considered.  Full application details are available on our website: or please contact Liz Mackay, (Office Supervisor) on 0131 662 4359 or email [email protected].
