Who I Am?

I am a volunteer at a person-centred service with Support in Mind Scotland

I am a daughter

I am a granddaughter

I am a little sister

I am a niece

I am a friend

I am an auntie

I am a fiancé

I am a Pinterest boards creator

I am a Vans trainers’ wearer

I am a Spotify music listener

I am a Netflix watcher

I am a snowboarder

I am a PS4 gamer

I am a list maker

I was a college student studying art & fashion

I was a patient in a mental health hospital

I was a lifeguard, bar tender & activity assistant

I was a Mental Health Nursing student

I was a home carer & bar tender during my studies

I am a Mental Health Nursing graduate

I am a part-time staff nurse in a mental health hospital

I was a patient in mental health hospitals

I asked if I could be a volunteer and they said yes!

On paper, I am a mental health problem

On paper, I am a patient/service user

On paper, I am a number on a caseload

On paper, I am a medication taker

On paper, I am not ME.

I am an Art Group member/digital painter

I was also a Creative Writing group member until a job opportunity arose

I am now a community mental health nurse on a part-time basis

I am working again thanks to volunteering at The Life Skills Project, Munches Street.
